What this means

This error almost always means Windows does not have a default printer set. It happens a lot on new PCs or after big updates.

Quick fix if you already have a printer

1.Press Windows + I to open Settings.

2.Windows 11: go to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

3.Windows 10: go to Devices > Printers & scanners.

4.Turn OFF “Let Windows manage my default printer.”

5.Click your printer, click Manage (if shown), then click Set as default.

6.Close Settings and open BLS-2026 again.

If you do not use a physical printer

You still need a printer driver for reports to work.

1.Go to Settings > Printers & scanners.

2.Click Add device (or Add a printer or scanner).

3.Choose a built-in printer like “Microsoft Print to PDF” (or “Microsoft XPS Document Writer”).
If you don’t see it, click “The printer that I want isn’t listed” and pick it from the list.

4.After it’s added, click it, choose Manage, then Set as default.

5.If asked to print a test page, choose No.

6.Open BLS-2026 again.

If the error returns

Repeat the steps and re-set a default printer (Windows can “forget” it).

Restart the computer after setting the default printer.

Make sure your real printer’s drivers are installed if you use one.

Why this works

BLS-2026 uses Windows’ printer system to create and preview reports. A default printer (real or virtual) must be set, even if nothing is physically connected.
